The first thing to do is check when your MOT is actually due. You can do this online via our MOT checker or speak to one of our team who will be happy to help. All cars over three years old must have a valid MOT certificate, which needs to be renewed annually – this is done by having an MOT test. Our DVSa approved testers will inspect your vehicle for safety issues and any problems with the mechanical workings or electrics. We’ll test your exhaust emissions and even check the bodywork of your car to make sure it’s completely safe to be driven.

Car Services for All Makes and Models

Having your car serviced regularly will help to make sure that you pass your annual MOT, as we’ll often do checks which are included in the test. There are three different levels of services – interim, full and major. Depending on your last service and the mileage you do, our staff or online comparison tool will help you to decide which one you next need.

An interim service is recommended every 5,000 miles or six months. If you drive a lot or have an older car, this service can be beneficial for you. We’ll change your oil and filters and also check your brakes and tyres.

A full service is recommended every 12,000 miles or annually – often at the same time as your MOT. We’ll change the oil and filters, and check your tyres, brakes, battery, suspension and headlights. This service level is ideal as it helps to maintain your vehicle in time for your MOT test.

A major service is only done every 24,000 miles or two years. It’s simply a chance for us to check out longer lasting parts and ensure the key components are all working correctly. The additional checks with this service include your starter motor and spark plugs.
